Why should you focus on mobile?
by Pyton on Jan.24, 2011, under Pyton blog
Prepare for a great mobile revolution – this is what the previous Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt wrote in a note to a Harvard Business Review. What is striking is the statement, that all of this year’s strategic Google projects will involve mobile technology. Not most of them, not some of them – but all of them.
Schmidt presents a very interesting vision of reality. He notices that the geolocation features of a mobile device and power of mobile device browser allow to deliver personalized information to the user. This information would include not only the detailed location of the phone but also a recommended ‘to do list’. These services should be delivered on the large scale, Schmidt admitted. Mobile users set trends for travel technology providers
by Pyton on Dec.16, 2010, under Pyton blog
Have you ever wondered how users browse for travel products? Forrester data shows that 56% of US online leisure travelers research travel using online travel agencies (OTAs), 34% use discount travel sites like Hotwire, and 18% use metasearch sites like Kayak.com.
The same research clearly shows the huge growth potential for mobile. Forrester data shows that only 4% of US online adults have ever used location-based social networks, such as FourSquare and Brightkite, on their mobile phones, with only 1% using them more than once a week. (continue reading…)

by Pyton on Nov.26, 2010, under Pyton blog
Even though in the mid-2000s dynamic packaging has been seen as a very exciting opportunity for travel agents operating online, it seems that at least in Europe it has not taken off as it was believed it could have. The critics of dynamic packaging suggest that consumers are afraid of the fact that they would not be protected in case of the provider failure. Also the part of the story is the reluctance of low-cost-carriers to cooperate with online travel agencies and make it attractive for them to sell the tickets. This impairs dynamic packaging to put flight and hotel packages together. But maybe this has been solved recently, as there are plenty of those who predict that very soon we might encounter dynamic packaging surge. Will dynamic packaging sky-rocket? (continue reading…)

by Pyton on Nov.05, 2010, under Pyton blog
Next week we are going to visit World Travel Market in London as visitors and will meet with some industry players to talk about our dynamic packaging solution, which is currently under development, so the input on functionalities and consumer desires is invaluable for us. Also we would seek input for our latest development, which is a mobile app "Inspire Travel" recently developed for Apple devices.
Also we will have couple of meetings on which we will present the low cost reservation system, which is low-cost reservation platform. It has been built based on long-time experience and industry knowledge, and with time matured into a profitable and highly converting solution with a very low failed bookings ratio.

Travel and mobile internet go in pair
by Pyton on Oct.28, 2010, under Pyton blog
It seems that mobile trend is only growing stronger. There is no surprise that tourist industry is responding to it. More and more key players are thinking of the ways to get on that mobile internet fast going train. Even airlines.
Virgin boss, Sir Richard Branson, announced some time ago ambitious plans to upgrade the carrier’s in-flight entertainment system. We are talking about going mobile here. And in many forms. Passengers will not only be able to use their mobile phones while travelling, access the internet, but also watch live television when sitting on a plane. It turns out that passengers are most likely to appreciate content such as live sporting events and live news broadcasts. Virigin is working on the system together with (continue reading…)

A report by Hermes Management Consulting published in July 2010 reveals important facts about the business of online travel agents (OTAs).
